Opening Doors is a cabaret-style evening of songs from the musical theatre, featuring composers such as Stephen Sondheim, Kander and Ebb, Maltby and Shire, and Rodgers and Hammerstein.

The cast of six met when they performed with the YPTMTC in high school, playing lead roles in such musicals as South Pacific, West Side Story, and Jesus Christ Superstar, and have had extensive experience in community and collegiate musical theatre.

Peter Tucker, 22, who conceived and supervised the revue, recently graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in music. Other cast members include Anna Bergman, 20 (City College of SF); Rosie Bromann, 20 (Santa Clara University); Noah Haydon, 21 (City College of SF); Jaimie Kelton, 19, and Dominic Nolfi, 19, both at Boston Conservatory of Music. Musical director-pianist-arranger Daniel Feyer, 20, also a YPTMTC alumnus, studies at Princeton University.

The Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company is a program for San Francisco students aged 13 - 19, founded twelve years ago by Diane Price and sponsored by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. Price has directed over 60 musicals, giving hundreds of teenagers the opportunity to sing, dance, and act on stage. The students rehearse about 10 hours a week and perform at venues including the Randall Museum Theatre and the Little Theatre at San Francisco State University. The donations received at Opening Doors will help the Company continue to afford quality costumes, sets, publicity, and staff in a time of increasing cutbacks in funding.
