Have you ever arrived in camp, tired and hungry, and wished you could just eat? Well fret not, whether you're coming from across town or across the country, you don't have to worry about cooking tonight. We'll be having Chinese food delivered right to the campsite! (Note: both vegetarian and meat choices will be available throughout the weekend.)
Right after breakfast, we'll head out for Rovers on Lombard -- a caravan to San Francisco's famous street and a photo session with over 30 rovers on the hill! We'll be sure to turn heads as we take the turns on Lombard. We will travel past the peaks of San Francisco, including the Pyramid and the Banker's Heart. Additional photo opportunities will present themselves with the Golden Gate Bridge and other San Francisco landmarks.
Lunch will be served with style at the South Beach Yacht Club, south of Market on the Embarcadero. Barbecued hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, and veggie burgers will be the order of the day. Afterwards, enjoy a taste of some serious off-road action with a trip around the harbor in a sailboat. Or, visit the nearby West Marine store on Townsend where we have arranged for everything in the store -- GPS receivers, propane tanks, clothes, and more! -- to be at wholesale prices all afternoon.
Dinner will be a surprise: could be a luau, might be pasta; you won't know 'til you get there, but you're sure to enjoy it. Be prepared for good eats and equally good conversation. Adult beverages are welcome.
After dinner we'll sit around the campfire and share our best Land Rover stories. The Photo Gallery will be open; bring your favorite Land Rover photos to share. 'Smores will be on hand, with plenty of extra marshmallows for toasting a la carte.
And what a lunch it will be! We will enjoy a picnic on the beach at historic Fort Kronkite and feast on a sandwich buffet to suit all tastes -- roast beef, chicken, even peanut butter and jelly. A perfect way to wrap up a terrific weekend.
