West Portal Joe's

West Portal Joe's was part of the middle class chain of rat-pack style restaurants in the Bay Area. The one in West Portal (named after the adjacent Western end of the Municipal Railway tunnel) featured a great neon sign with a little Joe-guy.

This particular Joe's has sinced closed (due mainly to the disappearance of the cocktail-drinking conservative types) and has been replaced by a trendy pseudo-Italian restaurant whose only saving grace is that they preserved the character from the original sign.
