Rhoda Huffey: The Hallelujah Side
-
Stacey's Bookstore, 581 Market St.
Stacey's presents Rhoda Huffey and "The Hallelujah Side" as part of
our Evolution of a Writer program, a series for writers and all
interested in the creative process. In addition to reading from
her novel, Huffey will discuss her writing and publishing process.
In her book, Huffey introduces us to the midwestern bible-quoting,
tongues-speaking family of Roxanne Fish. "The Hallelujah Side" is
an unforgettable story of the conflict between a woman's desire to
be saved and her yearning to experience the beauty and variety of
the world. The daughter of two Pentecostal preachers, Huffey is a
magazine writer, a dancer, and a backup screamer to a retro-punk
band.
