Patricia attended Marshall grade school, California Jr. High, and graduated from McClatchy High School in Sacramento. She attended Sacramento City College for two years and received her Associates of Arts degree in English. She then transferred to Holy Names College in Oakland where she finished her B.A. degree with a double major in English and Education in 1952. Pat taught first grade in Sacramento for several years.
Some years later, Pat began ushering at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House. One day, she was involved in an auto accident and was referred to a lawyer named Paul Eisler. He later introduced her to Herman Sinasohn, another usher at the Opera House. They were married in 1956. She and Herman had five children and would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this coming October. They worked together for many years in Herman's CPA practice.
Patricia enjoyed many hobbies including jigsaw puzzles, horseback riding, painting, and playing piano. In fact, in the early 1970's she began her studies for a masters degree in Piano Performance at San Francisco State University, but never finished her degree. She had recently enrolled in the Elder Studies program at San Francisco State University studying Russian and Music.
Although Patricia was raised as a Methodist, she became Roman Catholic at the age of 18, and was very involved in the church throughout most of her life. For the last few years, she had been a member of the Russian Orthodox Church at the Holy Virgin Cathedral in San Francisco.
Patricia is survived by her husband Herman, and her five children: Paul, Roger, Stan, Barbara, and Rita. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Wilson of Sacramento, three nephews, John, Rick, and Dave, and a niece, Anne.
A memorial celebration of Patricia's life took place on February 4, 1996, at 2:30pm in the afternoon. It was held at the Stonestown Family YMCA, 333 Eucalyptus Drive, San Francisco, California, 94132.
