Some surplus double-speed CD-ROM drives have added to the overall functionality of the computers, but there is still only one color computer for every five students. Several more CPU's await keyboards, monitors, video cards, and CD-ROM drives.
As other teachers see what can be accomplished with the aid of a computer as a learning tool, they too are asking for computers. There could never be too many computers in the schools.
Donations of used computers are desparately needed. Specifically, any model of Apple Macintosh, especially color models capable of supporting System 7 and a CD-ROM drive. MPC compatible MS-DOS/Windows computers are also wanted.
In addition, CD-ROM drives, Monitors, Macintosh-compatible printers (especially color printers) and SCSI hard drives are needed. Even keyboards, mice, and cases can be put to use. Note that high-speed hard drives and CD-ROM drives are not required; double-speed CD-ROM drives, or 40mb hard drives, for example, are perfectly acceptable.
Educational software is also needed. As your children grow out of their software, consider donating it. Any and all software is welcome. (Legal copies only, please!)
